frequently asked questions

DO YOU TEACH BALLROOM STYLE?
I do not. It's important for instructors to be up front about what they can and cannot teach. I'm always happy to provide recommendations if you request a style of dance that I don't teach.

DO YOU TEACH AT A STUDIO?
I do not currently teach at a studio. I am an independent instructor who specializes in private lessons.  I also teach club lessons that are open to the general public. See my calendar for my full teaching schedule, or message me to set up a private lesson or custom group lessons.

DO YOU TEACH PRIVATE LESSONS?
Yes! Private lessons are the fastest way to learn because you receive 100% of my attention. Please contact me to inquire about rates and availability.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Any kind of clothing that makes you feel comfortable and confident will work. Dance shoes are not required. Any shoe with a non-grippy sole that stays on your foot is a good start. As you progress, you may decide to buy dance shoes. I can provide you with recommendations.

DO I NEED TO BRING A PARTNER TO MY LESSON?
Not at all. You may bring a friend if you wish, but if not, I'll be your dance partner.

HOW MANY LESSONS WILL IT TAKE ME TO LEARN TO DANCE?
This is a question that I get all the time. There is no single answer for everyone. So much depends upon a student's natural aptitude, prior experience, and dedication to practice. Not to mention that dancing is never "done." There's always more to learn. So don't think of dancing as an end goal. Think of it as a process--a very fun one. How many lessons will it take you to have fun and feel like you're dancing? Just one!
